MEET THE BAND

Renowned for their electrifying performances, tight arrangements, and meticulous attention to detail, the five musicians of Radio Radio are dedicated to bringing Elvis Costello's timeless classics to life.

VOCALS / ROBERT GILLIGAN

Robert was a singer in the New Jersey/Philadelphia hard rock scene in the early late '90s with a development deal with Ivory Productions/Sigma Studios (The Roots, Erykah Badu, Halestorm), before heading west to San Francisco. Local Bay Area bands include Ratchet/Third Of All (highlight shows include The Knitting Factory, Vinny's, and Red Devil Lounge with radio airplay on 107.7 The Bone) and Anaura (highlight shows include Bottom of The Hill, Brick and Mortar Music Hall, and Elbo Room). Heavily influenced by his USO Singer Grandmother and Opera Singer Grandfather, Robert has spent time fronting jazz and big bands while always keeping one foot planted firmly in Rock and Roll.

GUITAR / SEAN YARBROUGH

Sean started playing guitar when he was 12, by sneaking onto his older brother’s 1973 Stratocaster every chance he got. When his brother saw Sean could play better than himself, he gave his kid brother the guitar. Since the 1980s Sean has played in several bands, including Amadafair and Shy Hands (who opened for The Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1986).  He co-founded the groundbreaking, alternative Bay Area band Black Pole. Other bands have included SWANK fronted by MySpace co-founder Tom Anderson, Bettie Black, Unity 5, and Electric Chair Repair Co. Read more

DRUMS / NATE TOUTJIAN

Nate has been drumming since his neighbors can remember. Taught by legendary Bay Area East Coast native jazz drummer Chuck Brown, Nate is part of the David Garibaldi/Terry Bozzio/Tower of Power drum tree. He has drummed his way through life, most notably as a performer with bands Pomegranate (A&M), Belleville, and From Bubblegum To Sky; he has also fronted the pop-rock band Salvadors Army with fellow RR bandmate Sean Yarbrough. Nate is back on the drum throne in his happy place, drumming to his favorite late 70s British pop-punk songs.

BASS / REED MALCOLM

Reed was born in San Francisco and raised on West and East Coasts before moving to Berkeley in 1985. A guitar player at 16, he made the switch to electric and stand-up bass after hearing the likes of Tony Levin, Bruce Thomas, and Graham Maby. Reed has had the good fortune of touring Europe and North America with a variety of jazz and rock bands. In 1990 his band Love Nest recorded their first album at A&M Studios in Los Angeles. Since then he has been a part of many Bay Area bands, most notably Fatty Lovebuckle, The Pete Best Experience, and Frances8.

KEYBOARDS / PETER SOE

In his youth, Peter had hoped to become a drummer. Instead, he was drafted to be the keyboard player in his first band, Dormouse, while at UC Berkeley in the 1970s. Through the decades he has performed with Bay Area bands including The Back Pages, Roxy Lady, and The Overcommitments. In addition to being a founding member of Radio Radio, he is currently the keyboardist for Tom Petty tribute band The Refugees (voted Best Tribute Band in the S.F. Bay Area in 2009 on KFOX 98.5), with whom he has played throughout Northern California at venues such as The Mountain Winery in Saratoga, Club Fox in Redwood City, and numerous summer festivals, wineries, clubs, and private events.
